Susannah Thatcher, Rancher

Mrs. Thatcher moved west to Kansas with her parents before the war. Her family was chased from their home several times by marauders, bandits and renegade soldiers. She vowed to become a crack shot and excellent horsewoman so that she could defend her home and honor if the need arose.

She and Mr. Thatcher now maintain a ranch just south of Culpepper. Mrs. Thatcher fulfilled her promise to herself and consistently wins the sharpshooting contest at the County Fair and is well known for single handedly chasing off a band of miscreants intent upon rustling her cattle.

(Shown: Sterling Vest in Olive, Canvas Pants in Brown )
