Bert Cottrell, Patent Medicine Bottler
Bert first came out west to Texas, but after a taste of trouble with the local marshal who apparently thought Bert should pay him a “protection stipend,” Bert skedaddled and settled in the western territory.
After a few false starts, including a particularly bad run-in with a cocktail of hide tanning chemicals, Bert finally settled on bottling and hawking redeye to bodegas and saloons throughout the territory, and producing patent medicines including a well regarded cancer cure available in a convenient half-pint flask.
